On the first gallery, there is a neon art work, which is in Latin, which sometimes people will ask about, and what it means.
It says:
“POST TENEBRAS LUX”
[AFTER THE DARKNESS LIGHT]
The intention is to get visitors to realise the dawn aligmnet of Soulton Hall, and the messeges ‘Old’ Sir Rowland wanted vistors to hold on to in that.
Moreover, ‘Old’ Sir Rowland’s publishing activities involved using a stamp on some books with this message… a stamp which latter, interestingly, ended up being used on the second quatro edition of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream…
