At Soulton Hall, we’ve witnessed centuries of history unfold, but in 2019, the spotlight shone particularly bright.

The BBC’s beloved Countryfile program came knocking, and we were thrilled to open our doors to Matt Baker and Ellie Harrison.

The day began with a visit to explore the Soulton Long Barrow, a Neo-Neolithic burial mound nestled on our grounds that was under construction during the visit. One entering the barrow for the first time Ellie said:

oh my word. It’ss so calming.. It takes your breath away, litteraly.

It’s sort of magical

We were honored to welcome Pauline Dee BEM, whose family have a resting place in the barrow to talk to Matt about what the monument means to her. She gave a poignant expresion of her feelings.

Next, Matt Baker’s infectious was turned to artistic activities that happen her. He met with Annette Jackson, a talented resident stained-glass artist. We delighted that Annette was able to shoe the vibrant colors and intricate details that grace her work.

But Soulton Hall isn’t just about the past and the beautiful. We’re also passionate about shaping a sustainable future.

Thant being so, Matt Baker then turned his focus to our commitment to regenerative farming practices. He spoke with Tim, who shared insights into our innovative approach to soil health and land management. It was a privilege to showcase how tradition and progress can coexist for the benefit of the land that sustains us.
