The response to our early 2026 tours has been remarkable. It is clear that the desire to step beyond the textbook and into the “coded” history of Soulton Hall remains as strong as ever.
As the seasons turn and the Shropshire landscape transitions toward the vibrant energy of summer, we are pleased to announce that the vault will remain open. We have released additional dates for our family-led tours, extending these intimate explorations through the height of the summer months.
A Summer Journey Through the “House in Code”
Exploring the Hall in the soft light of May or the long afternoons of July offers a different perspective on the architectural riddles left by Sir Rowland Hill. These tours provide a rare opportunity to engage with the deep intellectual and spiritual heritage of the Elizabethan era, right where it was nurtured.
Visitors will continue to have unique access to:
-
The Concealed Chapel: A look at the private prayer room and its integrated priest’s hide.
-
The ‘As You Like It’ Dancing Pavement: Discovering the tangible links to William Shakespeare and the creative spirit of the time.
-
The Chess Court and Wren Steps: Exploring the external geometry and the Renaissance codes woven into the very fabric of the house.
-
The Rowland Hill Furniture: Viewing significant pieces that connect the Hall to its Tudor foundations.
