Over the past several years Soulton Hall has been working closely with cultural consultants Byrga Geniht, to research and uncover the story of this place along with its rich significance and links nationally and internationally.

Byrga Geniht is formed of partners James D. Wenn and James Syrett, who have made astounding discoveries in the heritage of England that unlock unique learning perspectives transforming our appreciation of Anglo-Saxon art history, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and beyond.
Here at Soulton, our standing architecture stretches from the Renaissance of Old Sir Rowland Hill onwards, but the wider work of Byrga Geniht has huge scope.

Alongside commercial consultancy, Byrga Geniht itself advances and promotes cultural work in the public interest — in spite of personal adversities and costs to James and James — trying to bring about a cultural revival that Old Sir Rowland would recognise! For example, they are putting on a free art exhibition in Colchester, Essex, in August.
