This expansion follows the tremendous success and extensive waiting list generated by our decision, with the invaluable assistance of the Historic Houses Association, to begin offering heritage tours in the summer of 2024. The overwhelming response underscores the public’s keen interest in the rich history and intriguing stories held within the walls of this remarkable Elizabethan residence.
Soulton Hall, built by the influential Sir Rowland Hill, offers a unique glimpse into a pivotal period of English history. The tour invites visitors to discover the coded messages embedded within the Hall’s architecture and delve into the narratives of defiance, inspiration, and refuge that define its legacy.

The tour also explores the Hall’s connection to William Shakespeare and the inspiration behind “As You Like It,” tracing its links to the Lodge family and Thomas Lodge’s “Rosalynde.”
