This beautiful piece is a direct connection to a very important time in Soulton Hall’s story, and we deeply appreciate it because our very own Old Sir Rowland Hill served as Lord Mayor of London in 1549-1550.
His time as Lord Mayor was a crucial period; he was the first Protestant Lord Mayor and a key player in London’s civic and religious life during the turbulent Reformation.
