Stained glass artist Annette Jackson draws inspiration from folklore and myth. The colors of the glass in her work reflect the rich colors found in nature, from the deep blue of the sea to the fiery sun on autumn leaves.

She uses handblown glass with a beautiful, uneven quality, which creates a sparkling effect as light shines through, bouncing color around the room. Kiln-fired glass paint is used to create contrast between dark and light, making her windows glow like jewels. Her windows are made using the traditional leaded method, a technique that has remained largely unchanged since the 12th century.

In the spring of 2019, Annette appeared on Countryfile alongside a segment featuring Soulton Hall and the Barrow. During the show, she discussed creating memorials in stained glass. She also appeared on the television program “Home is Where the Art Is” in the summer of 2020.

Please note: Due to unprecedented demand, Annette Jackson is currently not accepting new commissions. She has an approximate 4-year lead time for existing customers.
