Informal Bilingual Reading and Reflection

In a very simple and unpretentious gathering today, the Ashton family will welcome visiting friends from Germany; informal readings in English and German were shared in tw spaces on the estate:

• The Epidaurus Court: An open-air reading of selections from William Shakespeare’s As You Like It in German translation, celebrating classical theatre and shared language.

• The Prayer Room: A quiet, reflective moment combining Shakespeare’s thoughts on mercy in The Merchant of Venace with the Lord’s Prayer—held simply as a personal reading rather than a formal liturgy.
