A Quiet Tribute for Pope Francis: Candles in the Dancing Pavement in his Honour

Candels on the Soulton Dancing Pavement, an aold custom at Soulton for moments of refelction and national importance.

This Saturday, April 26th, as the world reflects upon the profound legacy of Pope Francis – his dedication to peace, his advocacy for the marginalized, and his passionate environmentalism – Soulton Hall will honour his memory through a rare and meaningful tradition.

The Ashton family has identified this day and appropriate one to illuminate the dancing pavement with candles.  The pavement shows and ancient pattern which has been associated with the Dance of Harmony from Shakespeare’s As You Like It.

This act, which has a long tradition at Soulton Hall stretching back many centuries, is performed for significant occasions which has lately included:

serves as a quiet expression of respect and a seeking of inspiration from the responsible use of social allegory that can be found in mathematics.

Anyone may witness this simple, contemplative illumination between 20:30 and 21:30 on April 26th.

This free, unticketed event offers a moment for shared internal reflection on harmony and fellowship.
