Barlaston Hall, a local and significant 18th-century mansion designed by renowned architect Sir Robert Taylor, is seeking new custodians. This Grade I listed building, located near Stoke-on-Trent, has recently garnered wider attention.
Originally built in 1756 for Thomas Mills, a local lawyer, the hall has a rich history. It later became the property of the Wedgwood family before falling into disrepair. In 1981, the heritage group SAVE Britain’s Heritage acquired the property for a nominal fee and undertook extensive restoration work.
The current owners, the Gilchrist-Dick family, have continued the restoration efforts, transforming the hall into a stunning example of Georgian architecture. As they prepare to embark on a new chapter, they are entrusting the future of Barlaston Hall to a new generation of caretakers.
