Update
This blog was originally posted on 24 January and updated on 24 April 2025, when the date was varied.
The update is to confirm that the event raised a net income of just over £94,000 which is a fantastic outcome! 50% will be donated to The Pret Foundation and 50% will benefit The Lord Mayor’s Appeal partner charity Homewards. Many thanks to all that supported it!
Tim Ashton is sleeping rough for a good cause
On Thursday 6th March, Tim will be taking part in The Lady Mayoress’s Sleep Out at Guildhall Yard to raise money for Homewards and The Pret Foundation.
These incredible charities provide vital support to people experiencing homelessness.
Tim is honoured to be able to highlight and support their crucial work.

As a resident of Soulton, a place with a rich history intertwined with the City of London, Tim Ashton feels a particular resonance with the The mission of the Lady Mayoress’s Sleep Out. Sir Rowland Hill (d. 1561), who built Soulton, was a prominent figure in the Renaissance era, and he was deeply concerned with social justice and the welfare of his community.
Even a small donation can make a significant difference. If you can, please consider sponsoring Tim. Every penny counts!
