On this day in 1395, a deed was granted for the manor of Soulton, Salop. The document’s beautifully preserved seal is what caught the eye of the Shropshire Archives, who recently shared a post about it.
However, they also revealed a little secret we’ve been trying to keep under wraps for over 600 years: the deed was forged in 1469.
