We were once again privileged to attend a remarkable event at the University of Oxford this year, continuing a tradition that began for us back in 2006. It was, as always, an insightful lecture delivered by the esteemed legal duo, Don Howarth and Suzelle M. Smith.
For many years, Howarth and Smith have maintained a vital tradition of lecturing at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Their core mission is to foster greater understanding and cooperation between the legal systems (and beyond) of the United States and Great Britain.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the importance of this cross-cultural legal dialogue cannot be overstated.
Their lectures consistently offer a fascinating comparative analysis, highlighting both the common ground and the subtle, yet significant, differences in legal practice and philosophy between the two nations. It’s a unique opportunity to gain perspective from experienced practitioners who are deeply committed to enhancing transatlantic legal relations.
