You might notice our hall drive looking a touch less formal in May, and that’s because we’re once again embracing #NoMowMay.
It’s a simple thing we’ve been doing for a while now, really just letting the grass be for a bit.
This little bit of wildness gives our spring bulbs a chance to do their thing undisturbed, and it certainly helps them along, and we’ve been lucky enough to see a lovely variety of wildflowers grow up over the years. It’s quite lovely to see the different colours and the bees buzzing about.

Of course, we still keep plenty of the lawns around the Hall neatly trimmed for events and enjoying the gardens. We’re mindful of needing those spaces.
But these patches on the drive make a big difference for the little things – the early flowers and the wildlife that depends on them.
