The Vibrant Shropshire Cultural Compact is a partnership initiative designed to implement the Shropshire’s cultural strategy.
Funded by Arts Council England (ACE) and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and facilitated by Shropshire Council, the Compact brings together representatives from business, education, health, well-being, and the cultural sector.
Shared Goals, Measurable Outcomes:
- Support cultural development: The Compact prioritizes the creation of innovative, ambitious, and diverse cultural programming throughout Shropshire.
- Increase cultural participation: A key focus is overcoming barriers to participation, particularly for underserved communities.
- Economic and social impact: The Compact aims to leverage the cultural sector to drive economic development, create employment opportunities in the arts, and enhance community well-being.
- Environmental responsibility: Promoting sustainable practices within the cultural sector and minimizing its environmental impact is another objective.
- Engaging young people: Increased engagement of children and young people in cultural activities is a crucial aspect of the Compact’s strategy.
