Today, we held a brief, poignant ceremony in the Epidaurus Court which commemorated D-Day.

We are currently honored to host a distinguished group of researchers from Harper Adams University, the University of Exeter, and the University of Oxford. This collaborative visit fosters intellectual exchange and promises exciting advancements in various fields.
The significance of D-Day resonates deeply within Soulton Hall. Major Waddington, who married into our family, was among the courageous participants in the landings. Similarly, many esteemed members of the visiting institutions undoubtedly have personal connections to this defining moment in World War II.
The following prayers were said:
God our refuge and strength,
as we remember those
who faced danger and death in Normandy,
eighty years ago,
grant us courage to pursue what is right,
the will to work with others,
and strength to overcome tyranny and oppression,
through Jesus Christ,
to whom belong dominion and glory,
now and for ever.
Amen.
Almighty God,
who by the three days’ resting of your only Son in the tomb sanctified the graves of all who die in the hope of resurrection:
grant peace and eternal light to those buried here or elsewhere,
and strengthen our faith that both we and they will together rise again, as Jesus did on the third day,
to behold you, our only true and eternal God, in our flesh.
Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever.
