The Ashton family are working with Patrick Lynch, and his colleagues at Lynch Architects on developing plans for the wider evronment of Soulton Hall to support Soulton’s aims and meet the needs of an important historic place as it develops trough time.
Some ideas were worked through as part of this with the brief:
- What does genuinely sustainable rural civic housing that adressed the rural housing crisis look like?
- and what can we learn from other generations?
- what does implimenting best sustainability practice look like?
This work was published to inform debate at Soulton and beyond, and we know it has been looked at very seriously by political actors and policy people.

There are several phases to working out how to respond to the developig needs of Soulton and its community, and it is a long process .
