An Ecumenical Service

14 November 2025

The legacy of Sir Rowland Hill: A space reflecting the intricate life of a Tudor figure who navigated the Reformation, Counter-Reformation, and Elizabethan Settlement.

An ecumenical service will be held in the Prayer Room of Soulton Hall. This gathering will offer a moment of reflection and shared faith, bringing together individuals from diverse Christian traditions. The service will acknowledge the complex legacy of Sir Rowland Hill, who strived for harmony amidst the turmoil of the sixteenth century, and will be mindful of the trauma and challenges of that period.

The service will provide a peaceful atmosphere for contemplation and connection, fostering unity and understanding among different denominations.

On this occasion, this is an invitation-only event.

Selected for their aesthetic harmony with the Tudor interior, these pieces distinguish themselves from Soulton's genuine Tudor artifacts, such as the Sir Rowland Hill furniture.

The historic, and recently re-presented, Prayer Room in Soulton Hall dating from the C16th.
