Soulton has a rich history, with several intriguing royal connections.
The most recent and officially recorded royal visit was in 1992 by King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía.
While there is no concrete evidence, it is possible that Henry Stafford, 2nd Duke of Buckingham, a prominent figure in the Wars of the Roses, visited Soulton Hall in 1483. It is a plausible location for him to have visited, becuse he was definitively on the edge of the manor.
There is also speculation that Elizabeth I may have visited Soulton Hall during the time of Old Sir Rowland, while she was still a princess. However, this claim remains unsubstantiated and is merely a point of historical interest.
