Shropshire Council has officially expressed gratitude to Tim Ashton and the research team behind the Byrga Geniht studies. In a letter dated 28 July 2026, Duncan Borrowman, Chairman of Shropshire Council, praised the efforts to highlight the historical connection between Soulton Hall and the famous work by William Shakespeare, As You Like It.

On behalf of Shropshire Council, I would like to express my gratitude to you and your research team for the work produced by the Byrga Geniht studies in highlighting the historical connection between Soulton Hall and Shakespeare’s As You Like It.
At our council meeting on 16 July, a motion was passed unanimously on a cross-party basis that emphasised how important these connections are to the identity and future of our county.
