Sir Rowland\, a pivotal figure on the Privy Councils of four monarchs\, defied oppression by transforming his home into a clandestine base for work on publishing the Geneva Bible and the settelement it was delivered in to. \nThe house’s unique history and artistic network inspired William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy\, As You Like It.
