These tours are your chance to unravel the truth\, stand in the footsteps of history\, and explore a tangible connection to the Tudor and Elizabethan periods. \nShakespeare\, Sanctuary\, and the Golden Age\nSoulton Hall is a tangible connection to the Tudor Period and the Elizabethan Golden Age. Sir Rowland\, a pivotal figure on the Privy Councils of four monarchs\, defied oppression by transforming his home into a clandestine base for work on publishing the Geneva Bible and the settelement it was delivered in to. \nThe house’s unique history and artistic network inspired William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy\, As You Like It. This landmark judgment\, which ruled the 2019 prorogation of Parliament unlawful\, stands as a cornerstone of contemporary law\, reinforcing the fundamental constitutional principle of parliamentary accountability. This dramatic clash between the judicial functions of the Royal Courts and the privileges of the Commons established the principle of parliamentary privilege and primacy. Notably\, Ferrers was the man who produced the first English translation of Magna Carta. \nThe 110ft Hawkstone obelisk was raised over two centuries after Soulton Hall\, specifically designed to double the 55ft height of the original Tudor “coded cube.” This precise 2:1 ratio allows the statue of Sir Rowland Hill to perpetually “wave” Magna Carta across the landscape toward the home that preceded it. \nMoreover\, Hill was not merely a civic leader but a judge of immense gravity\, overseeing committal proceedings for treason and acting as a “pilot” through the perilous theological tides of the Reformation.
