SUMMARY:Dracula at Soulton Hall with British Touring Shakespeare
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, British Touring Shakespeare brings a bold and visceral new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s gothic classic to the Tudor landscape of Soulton Hall. \n[Book Your Tickets Here]\nThis production shifts the lens of the traditional narrative\, centering the story on Mina Harker. Standing before a Victorian scientific society\, Mina recounts her experiences fighting the Count\, attempting to validate her claims against the heavy skepticism of the academics who surround her. \nBritish Touring Shakespeare’s FRANKENSTEIN at Soulton Hall (2025) \nIn this version\, Mina is not a victim but a recognized vampire hunter. The play follows her as she fights to reclaim her truth from an establishment that would rather see her silenced\, offering a sharp\, intellectual perspective on the events of the gothic masterpiece. \nSoulton Hall\, built in 1556 as a monument to Renaissance humanist thought and scientific curiosity\, provides a powerful backdrop for this struggle between evidence and disbelief. As the “pungency of the night” settles over our historic grounds\, the atmosphere of the Victorian shadows meets the gravity of our Tudor history. \nEvent Information \nThe Performance: An open-air production that explores themes of expertise\, testimony\, and the supernatural. \nSeating: This is an outdoor event. Please bring your own low-backed chairs or rugs to settle in on the lawn. \nPicnics: You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy as the gates open. Local refreshments will also be available on-site. \nThe Elements: The play will proceed in most weather conditions. We recommend bringing waterproofs and warm layers for the transition into the evening. \nJoin us for an evening of gothic horror and intellectual resistance\, performed by a company with a long and famous association with Soulton Hall.
